Are We Doing our Best?

My husband recently asked me whether I believe everyone is doing their best. With my general belief in people’s mindset, I responded that I indeed believe people are doing their best with what they have. I proceeded to explain that people have limited skills in many regards, and this shows up in the way they work, parent, live and love. For other people it may seem like the specific individual is doing the bare minimum, however, for the individual, their efforts may be their best.

There are several common mistakes that people make in the kitchen, but with a little awareness and practice, you can easily avoid them. Here are a few common kitchen mistakes and tips on how to avoid them:

Rugs

As we see a shift towards simplifying and repurposing furniture, rugs are also taking on a new role as functional artwork. Instead of just being something to walk on, rugs are becoming a focal point in a room. People are choosing rugs that not only serve a practical purpose but also add visual interest and style to their space.

Counting Macros

I typically don’t recommend counting macros, unless you have a positive relationship with your body and the scale. If you do however count macros, or are interested in learning more, here are some tips

Refurbishing is great, but why stop there? Get creative and repurpose old items for a whole new use! For example, turn cluster coffee tables into bedside tables or transform an old floor lamp into a coat hanger with a fresh coat of paint.

Everything you eat and drink (including medications, alcohol, & caffeine in excess) is filtered by your liver, and hormonal balance, cholesterol levels, and weight are also managed by this organ.

High Quality, Mostly Lean, Protein Which supports cell function, energy, metabolism, satiety, and helps control cravings. Aim for 100 - 200g (or 1/4 - 1/3 of your plate) per meal (eggs, poultry meat, white and oily fish, game, beef, lamb meat, organ meat).
